Meet Patty Paone Pet Person of the Week

by seacoast_ashley 20. March 2015 02:49

Patty Paone is one “failure” that Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage is happy to have on our team. Patty is what is known in the rescue world as a, “foster failure.” Believe it or not, she has fostered successfully (8-10 times). Patty recently moved from New York where she was active in a dog sanctuary. Obviously, Patty is an extremely patient and giving person. She currently has a pack of FIVE dogs, all rescues. I’m pretty sure that she has enough material to write a book, but this is Phoebe’s story.

Phoebedesign.png

My Phoebe was rescued from a Puppy Mill in Ohio in March of 2013.  By the time she got to us in August 2013, she had been in 3 foster homes and a short stay at the sanctuary.  She was so shut down. She was getting bounced around trying different situations to help her.  She wouldn’t go out or come back in on her own. She had to be carried out and then chased down to get her back in.  We would often bring our dogs to the sanctuary when we were going up for the day.  In comes my overly social boy (Mack) who got her out of her shell one day while visiting the sanctuary. He just wanted her to play and wouldn’t give up until she did.

After 2 weeks, we decide to see how she would do in our house.  We have a very social pack. Hoping less chaos and a smaller pack would help her, we took her to ‘foster’.

I used to just sit outside and give attention to all the other dogs, letting her come to me when she was ready.

We thought about rehoming her when she came out of her shell, but we think it is our pack that keeps her going, after all she has been through. We cannot imagine causing her to shut back down.

Meet Madison Preble Pet Person of the Week!

by seacoast_ashley 16. March 2015 03:54

Madison Preble (from our Jacksonville office) is our Pet Person of the Week! Madison has adopted many times, and currently has three pets. All of her animals are rescues. She has her dog training certification, and has worked as an animal shelter volunteer. Berrin was her first rescue. Her second rescue, Marley, was saved during Madison’s time at the shelter. The third member of the pack is Blintz...the cat!  As any pet owner knows we would do just about anything for our animals. Once our pets pick us out, we will jump through hoops to help them. This is Berrin’s story...

Berrin, my beagle/border collie was the first animal I got on my own. I went to visit a friend in Kentucky, and we took a trip to the pound. Berrin was one of 3 puppies that had been separated from his mom (at 4 weeks old). The adoption fee was $100 which I didn’t have at the time.  I told the guy working at the pound that I would give him the best home he could possibly have. He made me go back to the kennel that Berrin was in, pick him up, and show him how much I wanted him. I picked Berrin up and loved him. He got so excited he peed on me!!! I got to take him home, and he has been my best friend ever since!

Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage Acquires Rampage Realty to Open New Office in Holden Beach

by seacoast_ashley 9. July 2014 11:13

Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage has announced the opening of a new office in Holden Beach with the acquisition of Rampage Realty, a locally owned, independent real estate firm specializing in Brunswick County beach and mainland properties. The new office will operate out of Rampage Realty’s existing office on the Causeway at 3247 Holden Beach Road in Holden Beach. Rampage owner Linda Stephens and her fellow brokers, Vickie Lemar and Brenda Peebles, will remain with Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage, and five additional brokers will join the firm immediately to significantly expand its presence and reach.

“Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage is very proud to align ourselves with such a well-respected local firm and sales team and we’re confident our partnership will be very successful,” said Tim Milam, president of Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage. “Prior to this acquisition, we had one gap in our locations along the state’s southeastern coast and that was Holden Beach. With the opening of our new Holden Beach office, we now have a consistent presence along the entire coastline from Jacksonville to the South Carolina border, which enables us to better serve our buyers and sellers throughout the region.”

Rampage Realty was established in 1989 and then acquired by Linda Stephens, a former teacher turned REALTOR® and an active member of the Holden Beach community since 1996.

“Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage is the leading real estate firm in southeastern North Carolina,” said Linda Stephens. “By aligning our local expertise with Coldwell Banker’s capabilities, we can better serve both our buyers and sellers.”

In Brunswick County, Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage closed $230 million in home sales in 2013. Its closest competitor closed a little more than $50 million in Brunswick County.

According to Tom O’Neill, broker in charge of Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage’s South Brunswick office, Holden Beach is “hot” right now and is a popular destination for homeowners who enjoy a quiet, family-oriented beach. Holden Beach features more than eight miles of pristine beaches and is conveniently located midway between Wilmington and Myrtle Beach. In 2013, the average sales price for home on the island of Holden Beach was $515,000.

Realtor Jessica Edwards to Walk the Red Carpet at This Weekend's Oscars

by seacoast_ashley 26. February 2014 08:16

Jessica Riffle Edwards RealtorJessica Edwards, a 32-year-old REALTOR with Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage, keeps pinching herself to make sure it’s real. She’s going to this weekend’s Oscar awards in Los Angeles, courtesy of Coldwell Banker Corporate!

Since 2011, Edwards has served as an ambassador for the corporate office as the Coldwell Banker Real Estate Consumer Specialist. In this position, she has spoken at seminars and conferences throughout the US about her maverick marketing strategies that utilize video blogs, social media and other technologies. In addition, Edwards is often interviewed by national media outlets such as CNBC, USA Today, Fox Business and the Wall Street Journal on real estate trends and marketing.

“Jessica is an extraordinary agent with a tireless enthusiasm for creative marketing” said Tim Milam, president of Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage. “She and her team closed $23 million in sales in 2013 and we credit her success to her professionalism, dedication and marketing strategies. We are very proud of Jessica and thrilled she is being honored with this opportunity to represent our office and the entire Coldwell Banker brand at the Oscars.”

Coldwell Banker Corporate is airing a :30 commercial during the Oscars telecast and as an advertiser perk, was given two tickets to the ceremony. Rather than send an executive, Coldwell Banker has taken a page from Edward’s own playbook and decided to use this as a unique marketing opportunity, with Jessica as the star. Edwards and Coldwell Banker will create a series of five behind-the-scenes videos and release them to the media throughout the day and evening on Sunday, March 2.

“I first caught the attention of the corporate office with my use of video blogs to generate attention for my listings and for my own personal brand,” said Edwards. “In 2009, I started creating video blogs from a dash cam in my car on a wide variety of real estate topics and then in 2012, I created a couple of music videos that generated a great deal of attention both online and off. I’m honored to represent Coldwell Banker at the Oscars and very grateful for the opportunity.”

Edwards, who will be accompanied by her sister-in-law Harriett Mills of Raleigh, will enjoy the entire red carpet treatment in Tinsel Town from Friday, February 28 through Monday, March 3, including pre- and post-Oscar parties, dressing fittings with personal stylist, hair, makeup, jewelry – the works.

To prepare her wardrobe, Edwards has teamed up with Monkees at Lumina Station, a women’s retailer widely know for its extraordinary fashions and luxury brands. Monkees has created a weekend wardrobe for Edwards worthy of an Oscar award in costume design. And much like fashion designers cater to celebrities, Monkees has styled Edwards with multiple looks that will take her from morning to night, including shoes and accessories. In addition to Monkees, Reeds Jewelers of Wilmington is supplying a variety of fine jewelry for Edward’s use on the red carpet and throughout the weekend.

The dress Edwards will wear to the Oscar ceremony itself is to be determined. She will meet with a private stylist in Los Angeles on Saturday, who will have a variety of designer dresses for her to choose from.

The dress selection process, of course, will be videotaped and is one of five planned for the series. Other videos will include a visit to the Hollywood Boulevard Walk of Fame; getting the day started on Sunday morning; styling of hair and makeup; and the limo ride to the Oscars ceremony, complete with champagne toast.

During the trip, Edwards will use the hashtag #yourhome to send updates on the company’s Twitter feed (@Coldwell Banker) and Facebook page.
